C-Arm batteries are expensive.
Most C-Arm batteries last 2-3 years. Your battery’s lifespan is affected by how frequently you use your C-Arm, the applications you use and the maintenance you perform.
Here are some tips to extend the life of C-Arm batteries in OEC C-Arms from 8800 models to 9900 models. If you own a used or refurbished C-Arm, these tips can also extend the life of your battery.
Charging Your Batteries
It’s important to know when to charge your batteries. Medical imaging devices always run better when fully charged. When a battery has dipped to 70%, a warning message will usually appear. When a battery reaches the 40% limit, you need to set your batteries to charge automatically. If you run your C-Arm on a low battery status is can have a negative effect on the productivity of your imaging device. As a rule, it’s wise to keep your C-Arm plugged in when it’s not being used.
Overcharging Your Battery
Did you know that overcharging your battery can cause issues? It’s important not to plug in your C-Arm battery for more time than needed. Ideally, your C-Arm should be charged for one hour, three times per week.
Replacing Your C-Arm Battery
Eventually your C-Arm battery will need to be replaced. If you want to avoid downtime for your facility, make sure you get the batteries replaced before they completely run out.
