What is the GE OEC WiSP console? The Wireless Image Sharing Platform console is an advanced device that’s used in medical imaging to provide the secure transfer of images andwisp cine videos from a GE OEC 9900 C-arm to a hospital's Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) network. It serves as an intermediary by streamlining the process of exporting and accessing medical images. The WiSP is more than just an effective bridge between the C-arm and the hospital. It also has the capability to reduce the number of steps needed to use the information.

When it comes to connectivity and compatibility, the WiSP console connects to the GE OEC 9900 C-arm models, including the Super and Elite variants. It uses wired connections to guarantee secure data transfer to a hospital’s network.

A field service technician can install a WiSP in approximately 30 minutes. The tech will connect the WiSP to a workstation and network, log into the system and set up network connections. The tech will usually collaborate with an IT department to manage both the firewall and MAC address settings.

It’s important to note that the USB ports must be either 1.0 or 2.0 where the site connectors go into WiSP or a desktop. In addition, none of the lights will work until a WiSP is fully configured, which can be confusing. That’s why it’s essential that a field service tech works with your facility’s engineer.

In general, a WiSP can last approximately 7-10 years.
