If you’ve visited the Atlantis Worldwide website before you may remember a blog we posted a little over 2 years ago. It focused on the risks and dangers of buying C-Arms on eBay. No, we’re not kidding some doctor’s offices have actually considered this.

Is Ziehm the RC Cola of the C-Arm Market?

Posted by Alex Silbergleit on Thu, May 21, 2015 @ 15:05 PM

C-Arms have been around for more than 30 years, and people often view it as a “Coke and Pepsi” market: dominated by OEC C-Arms and Philips C-Arms.  Okay, and maybe Siemens C-Arms, too. But there is another fairly big player that’s often overlooked: Ziehm C-Arms. I like to think of them as the RC Cola of the C-Arm market. They've been around just as long as the big guys (1983) and the quality of their C-Arms is actually on par, as well.  (We all know RC Cola is just as good as Coke and Pepsi!) However, for some reason the Ziehm name does not carry the same appeal or recognition as OEC, Philips or Siemens

What? A New C-Arm at a Pre-Owned Price?

Posted by Alex Silbergleit on Tue, Feb 24, 2015 @ 09:02 AM

New is great. Everybody loves new. If it were up to me, I would ONLY have new everything—from cars and cell phones to homes and imaging devices. But let’s be real.  New is expensive. And if you’re talking about medical imaging devices, new is REALLY expensive. Let’s say you wanted to buy a new OEC, Philips or Siemens C-Arm. You’re looking at more than $100,000.00. Ouch. So it’s no wonder Atlantis Worldwide has been so successful.  We’ve helped clinics, hospitals and other health care entities get the medical imaging equipment they want and need, but at a used or refurbished price.

3 Philips C-Arms Compared: Which Is Best?

Posted by Alex Silbergleit on Mon, Feb 2, 2015 @ 13:02 PM

If you’re looking for a C-Arm (and it seems like everyone is these days), the choices can be overwhelming. There are the major brands to choose from like Philips, GE, Siemens, Ziehm, Genoray and GEMSS (formally known as COMED), but you also need to decide between the different variations of C-Arms that each manufacturer offers. However, if you’re interested in a C-Arm, we believe Phillips is a brand to look at, especially in the pre-owned or refurbished market. Let’s compare three different options: Philips Libra, Endura and Pulsera.

2015: The Year of the Functional C-Arm

Posted by Alex Silbergleit on Tue, Jan 20, 2015 @ 09:01 AM

It’s a new year and 2014, for better or for worse, is in the past. In the Chinese Zodiac calendar, 2015 is the year of the Sheep. But in the radiology world, I like to view 2015 as the year of the Functional C-Arm. You can sit back, knock on wood and cross your fingers, but if you really want to make sure your C-Arm continues working all year long there is one simple thing you can do. Preventative Maintenance

Posted by Alex Silbergleit on Mon, Dec 22, 2014 @ 08:12 AM

The year 2014 is almost at an end and a lot has happened this year. Donald Sterling is no longer the owner of the LA Clippers after his racial tirade. The Ebola epidemic hit the United States for the first time. And Same Sex Marriage laws were passed in Oregon, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Oklahoma, Utah, Virginia, Wisconsin, Colorado, Indiana, Nevada, West Virginia and North Carolina. It was been a very busy year in the C-Arm world as well. Below are 4 areas in which C-Arms recognized a lot of changes this year:
